The official arrival day for the conference is Sunday, September 2, and the conference closing is at noon on Friday, September 7.

Scientific programme

The academic programme will run from the morning of Monday, September 3 until lunchtime on Friday, September 7, 2016, and will include principal 45-minute lectures presented by invited speakers, and 15--20-minute contributed presentations given by conference participants.

We have asked (and are honoured for their promise to come)

Professor Malgorzata Turowska (Slupsk, Poland)
Professor Laszlo Zsilinszky (Pembroke, USA)

to deliver principal lectures.

The programme is organized in such a way that there is a sufficient amount of time for informal gatherings, conversation, relaxation or tourist activities. As usual, one afternoon/day will be left free of lectures.

Proceedings and Abstracts

Contributions presented at the conference are planned to be published in a special issue of the journal Tatra Mountains Mathematical Publications. The usual journal reviewing process will be used, and the usual high standards of TMMP will be applied to submissions. The submission deadline is tentatively set at November 30, 2018. (This date will be finalized by the time of the conference.)

As usual, it is planned to publish Abstract Proceedings. Participants wishing to present a contributed talk at the conference are invited to submit a one-page abstract including:

title of the presentation
name(s) and address(es) of the author(s) (including e-mail address(es))
abstract (succinct statement of the problem, and the achieved result).

Abstracts should be submitted in LaTeX.

We strongly encourage abstract submitters to use the attached form "name.tex" (\documentclass{amsart} or \documentclass{scrf}; for detailed instruction [see]). Of course, other formats of TeX are acceptable, too.

Authors are invited to use e-mail, however, other possibilities are not excluded.

Abstract submission deadline is

July 15, 2018.

(The authors of invited lectures should meet the same deadline for abstracts as authors of contributed talks.)

Abstracts submitted after July 15, 2018, will not appear in the Abstract Proceedings.

Venue and accommodation

The conference will be held at the Congress Centre ACADEMIA in Stara Lesna (the High Tatras), Slovakia. The Congress Centre satisfies the requirements of sophisticated and advanced conferences.

The Congress Centre Academia is tucked away in a peaceful and picturesque surroundings of High Tatras, on the border of the Tatra National Park. There are plenty of local places of interest within easy reach of the hotel. Stara Lesna is a very popular tourist destination a short way off the towns Tatranska Lomnica and Stary Smokovec.

The venue offers double en-suite rooms with twin beds (standard) or double beds (Lux) each with TV with Sky Channels, radio, minibar, balcony, and additional sofa bed available upon request.

The hotel ACADEMIA offers complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access to the hotel guests.

You can provide your own choice of roomate (in the registration form, please select whom do you want to share the room with), or we will choose one for you.

Travel Information

How to get to Stara Lesna?

There are several possible ways for arriving in Stara Lesna. You can arrive either by train or by coach/car.

By Rail:

There are frequent trains both

from Bratislava (direction Kosice) (it is about 350 km) and
from Kosice (direction Bratislava/Prague) (about 120 km).

to Poprad.

In Poprad you have to use trains of Tatra Electric Railways (TEŽ - Slovak abbreviation; walk up to a special platform) to Starý Smokovec and then to Tatranská Lomnica. You have to get off at the stop "Stará Lesná - Rázcestie". To get to the hotel, walk for about 1.5 kilometres southward (down the hill). You will see a sign which reads "Kongresové centrum SAV" on your left. (The village of Stará Lesná is a further kilometer to the south of the Congress Centre.)

You can also get off at the final stop "Tatranská Lomnica".

From Poprad, it is 19 kilometers. The fare is 1.50 EUR. (Tracks of the Tatra Electric Railways operate with a self-service transport system. You have to buy a ticket in the ticket office and validate it in the stamping machine on board.)

By Coach:

From Poprad, take the coach to Stara Lesna; the fare is 1,10 EUR.

The bus station is adjacent to the railway station. (See the national express website www.cp.sk for details of trains and coaches.)

By Car:

If you travel by car, the hotel ACADEMIA is located on the road Poprad - Velka Lomnica - Stara Lesna (the village). If you come from Poprad, about 1 kilometer behind the village of Stara Lesna, there are three large storeyed buildings (Horizont, Kontakt ...) on your right. The last one is the Congress Centre. You will see a sign which reads "Kongresove centrum SAV".

Conference participants will be able to use the parking lot in front of the Congress Centre Academia hotel entrance. Parking should be free for conference participants, and the lot should have sufficient space to accommodate everyone.

Social events

The social events planned for the conference include the conference Welcome Reception (Tuesday evening, September 4), Farewell Dinner (Thursday evening, September 6), and Wednesday (or a traditional Wednesday afternoon) free of lectures.

The hotel Academia is well-equipped for spending spare time; you can use professionally kept outdoor tennis courts as well as the football (volleyball) field.

Payment

Special conference rates have been arranged for the participants of Summer Conference.

The cost of a room and full board per a day and a person is 46 EUR; the conference fee is 130 EUR and covers the use of conference facilities, a conference bag with Abstract Proceedings, refreshment breaks, Welcome Reception, Farewell Dinner, the total cost of the invited lecturers as well as a modest part of the cost for printing the hard copy version of the Conference Proceedings.

Any other expenses have to be defrayed by the participants.

Participant fee (including accommodation, full board, and conference fee) is 360 EUR; an accompanying person's fee (including accommodation, full board, and social events) is 260 EUR.

and is payable at registration upon arrival.

Registration

Please, fill in the enclosed registration form and return it by July 15, 2018. This form should be used both for reservation of accommodation and any of the associated activities (programme, ...).

Participants are expected to arrive on September 2 (Sunday). The registration desk will be in the lobby of the hotel and will be open from 3.00 p.m.
