From Košice Airport

The Košice airport is located 7 km southwest of the center of Košice. Direct flights are avaliable from Düsseldorf, Istanbul, Kiev, London-Southend, Munich, Prague, Vienna, Warsaw.

• CTC Taxi +421 905 955 955, fare about 10 EUR. The taxi stand is located just by the airport.
• EasyTaxi +421 919 333 333, flat fare 7 EUR. For both taxi services, we recommend to ask about the price before the ride, and request a receipt.
• Bolt (Taxify), an EU-based service similar to Uber. Fare depends on distance, from the airport to the city center it is about 4 EUR.
• City bus line 23 goes from the airport to the city center once in an hour in weekdays. Single ticket costs 0.60 EUR from a vending machine or 1 EUR on board sold by the driver; for a large baggage another ticket is needed. To get into the conference venue, one should get off at the bus stop "Dom umenia" (Palace of art).

From Other Airports

The Budapest airport is located 265 km from Košice. The journey takes 3.5 hours by bus or an airport shuttle. Tickets for bus or shuttle must be ordered and paid in advance.

• FlixBus departs from the airport at 17:20 (from 10 EUR).
• Cassovia Expres shuttle departs from the airport at 4:30, 12:30, 14:30, 17:30, 20:30, 23:55 (35 EUR).
• Cassovia Transfer shuttle departs from the airport at 12:00, 14:30, 17:30. 20:00, 23:55 (35 EUR).
• Direct train of Hungarian Railways to Košice departs from Keleti station at 6:30 and 18:30 (20 EUR two-way). The train does not go through the airport; you can use taxi or miniBUD shuttle bus.

The Krakow airport is located 265 km from Košice.

• The Tiger Express shuttle departs from the airport at 7:25, 12:40, 18:15 (from 30 EUR). The journey takes 4.5 hours.

The Vienna airport is located 459 km from Košice. The Bratislava airport is located 391 km from Košice. The journey from Vienna takes about 7 hours by bus and 6 hours by train. Some buses and trains goes from Vienna to Košice through Bratislava.

• The FlixBus departs from Vienna airport at 16:15 (from 19 EUR).
• The Eurobus departs from Vienna airport at 9:05 and 21:20 (from 21.50 EUR) and from Bratislava airport at 10:15 and 22:35 (from 19.50 EUR).
• The InterCity train departs from Vienna central station at 14:37 (from 29 EUR) and from Bratislava central station at 16:06 (from 21.50 EUR). For trains from Vienna airport (departure 14:03), type FLUGHAFEN WIEN to the From field at the railway page. This needs to be a separate ticket. In Bratislava, city bus line 61 goes from the airport to the central station every 20 minutes.

The Prague airport is located 683 km from Košice. The journey takes nearly 9 hours by train.

• The night train with sleeping wagon departs from Prague central station at 22:15 and arrives at 8:23. The price is 41 EUR with a bed. Tickets can be bought at the page slovakrail.sk. The train does not go through the airport; you can use Airport Express bus which goes from the airport to the central station every 30 minutes. The journey takes 44 minutes. The price is 60 CZK (about 2.40 EUR) and the ticket can be bought in a vending machine or at the driver.

In the City

For transport within Košice, you can use the public transport (map of lines, schedule). A single 30 minutes ticket costs 0.60 EUR, a 24 hour long ticket costs 3.20 EUR. Another possibility is to use taxi. One way within the city costs from 3 EUR (see above for telephone numbers and general information).
